FIFA Ranking: Spain maintain top spot to end the year as Super Eagles remain 5th In Africa

World football governing body FIFA has released its final rankings for the year, with Spain maintaining their position at the top of the global standings.

The European champions finished the year as the world’s number one team, ahead of France, England and Brazil, who all feature inside the top five of the latest rankings.
Meanwhile, Nigeria’s Super Eagles retained their position in the rankings, staying 38th in the world and fifth on the African continent.

On the continental scale, Morocco’s Atlas Lions remain Africa’s highest-ranked team, followed by Senegal’s Teranga Lions, Algeria’s Desert Foxes and Egypt’s Pharaohs, all of whom are placed above Nigeria.

Despite holding their position, the Super Eagles will be aiming for improved performances in upcoming competitions as they seek to climb higher in both the global and African rankings going into the new year.
