English Championship club Charlton Athletic have confirmed the invitation of goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo to the Nigeria squad for the upcoming 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
The club announced that Okonkwo has been called up by the Super Eagles for their qualifying fixtures against Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau.
“Arthur Okonkwo has been called up to the Nigeria squad for their upcoming AFCON qualifiers against Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau,” Charlton Athletic stated.
The invitation represents another opportunity for the goalkeeper to stake his claim for a regular place in the Super Eagles squad as Nigeria continue their campaign for a place at the 2027 AFCON.
Okonkwo joined Charlton Athletic on a season-long loan from Wrexham and has continued to compete at Championship level.
Nigeria are scheduled to face Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau in their next AFCON qualifying fixtures as the Super Eagles seek to secure qualification for the continental tournament.
