The curtain has officially been raised on the 22nd National Sports Festival, and Ogun State delivered an opening ceremony that will be remembered for years to come.
From the grand entry of athletes to the rich blend of culture, exceptional entertainment, and choreography, the atmosphere was nothing short of spectacular and a one-of-a-kind sports experience.
The Authentic Nigeria Football and Allied Sports Supporters Club (ANFASSC) commends the exceptional coordination that defined the ceremony.
The efforts of the organizing committee deserve the highest praise. It was evident that great attention had been paid to detail – logistics flowed seamlessly, performances were well-timed, and every segment contributed to a unified and purposeful celebration.
The National Sports Commission led by Chairman Shehu Dikko and Director General Chief Bukola Olapade equally played a significant role in ensuring the success of the event. Their guidance and support have reinforced the importance of institutional leadership in the continued growth of Nigeria’s sports sector.
This synergy between government agencies and event organizers has once again proven effective in delivering results that inspire pride.
“What we witnessed in Abeokuta is more than a ceremony; it was a statement about Nigeria’s readiness to lead through sports. ANFASSC is proud to stand with those who organize, support, and elevate Nigerian talent on every stage. We commend the sports ministry, the host state, and all stakeholders for a remarkable beginning. This festival will be remembered – not just for the medals – but for the message of hope and unity it carries.” – Prince Abayomi Ogunjimi, National President, ANFASSC
Special recognition must also go to the government and people of Ogun State. As hosts, under the leadership of Governor Dapo Abiodun, they not only welcomed the nation with open arms but also showcased the state’s cultural richness and organizational capacity. The infrastructure upgrades, crowd management, and warm hospitality were all clear indicators of their commitment to excellence.
The opening ceremony was more than a formal beginning – it was a celebration of Nigeria’s diversity and resilience.
It brought together athletes, supporters, and sports lovers from across the country in a shared moment of pride.
ANFASSC remains proud to support initiatives that unify and promote the best of Nigerian sports.
As the festival progresses, we look forward to more inspiring performances, positive narratives, and moments that reinforce our collective hope in the future of sports in this country.
