West Bromwich Albion have officially announced that Nigerian international Semi Ajayi will depart the club when his contract expires next month.

The announcement was made on Tuesday as the club released its retained and released list following the end of the 2024/25 season.

Ajayi’s departure brings an end to a five-year spell at The Hawthorns, marked by both solid performances and injury setbacks. The 31-year-old centre-back missed 29 Championship matches this season due to injury.

Since joining from Rotherham United in 2019, Ajayi made over 177 appearances for the Baggies, scoring 13 goals — including memorable strikes against Liverpool and Wolves in the Premier League.

It remains uncertain where the Super Eagles defender will continue his career, with the summer transfer window still ahead.
