South African football has welcomed the return of experienced tactician Pitso Mosimane, with the 62-year-old reportedly appointed as the new head coach of the national team, Bafana Bafana, following the departure of Hugo Broos.
Mosimane returns to the national team dugout with a wealth of experience, having previously guided South Africa and enjoyed a highly successful club coaching career.
His immediate major assignment will be to lead Bafana Bafana through the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying campaign and secure qualification for the tournament.
The appointment is expected to generate significant interest among South African football supporters, with Mosimane tasked with restoring consistency and competitiveness to the national team.
The experienced coach will now begin preparations for the upcoming challenges as South Africa targets a place at the 2027 AFCON finals.
