Nigeria has secured a place in the Mixed 4x100m final at the World Ultimate Championships following the country’s top-eight finish at the World Athletics Relays held in May.

The qualification is another significant milestone for Nigerian athletics after the mixed relay team delivered an impressive performance on the global stage.

The quartet of Favour Ashe, Obi Jennifer Chukwuka, Chidera Ezeakor, and Maria Omokwe made history at the World Relays in Botswana by setting a new African record of 40.24 seconds.

Their record-breaking run not only established a new continental benchmark but also earned Nigeria automatic qualification for the Mixed 4x100m final at the upcoming World Ultimate Championships.
The achievement further underlines Nigeria’s growing strength in relay events as the team looks to build on its recent success against the world’s best.
