Nigeria’s Super Falcons midfielder, Christy Uchebe, has officially parted ways with Portuguese women’s football giants SL Benfica after six successful years with the club.
Uchebe, who joined Benfica in 2020, played a key role in the team’s success during her stay in Portugal. The hardworking midfielder made 79 appearances for the club and scored six goals across all competitions.
During her time with Benfica, the Nigerian international enjoyed a trophy-laden spell, winning five titles and establishing herself as one of the club’s dependable performers in midfield.
The 24-year-old now becomes a free agent and is expected to attract interest from clubs across Europe following her departure from the Portuguese side.
Her exit marks the end of a memorable chapter at Benfica, where she contributed significantly to the club’s domestic achievements while also maintaining her place in Nigeria’s Super Falcons setup.
