Super Eagles defender Igho Ogbu has been ruled out of Nigeria’s upcoming international friendly against Portugal after suffering an injury during training on Saturday evening.
According to the team’s medical staff, the defender sustained the injury during a training session, with initial assessments indicating a suspected rupture of his left Achilles tendon.
Further medical examinations are expected to determine the full extent of the injury and the next course of treatment.
Ogbu’s absence comes as a significant setback for the Super Eagles ahead of the high-profile friendly encounter, with the defender having been expected to play a key role in the team’s defensive setup.
