Nigeria’s U17 women’s national team, the Flamingos, have been rewarded with a cash gift of N4.5 million by Remo Stars and Beyond Limits Football Club proprietor, Hon. Kunle Soname, following their impressive performance in the 2026 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup qualifiers.

The Flamingos secured qualification for the third and final round of the qualifiers after a dominant two-legged display against Guinea.

Having recorded a convincing 5-0 victory in the first leg in Abidjan, the Nigerian side completed the rout with an emphatic 6-0 win in the return leg at Ikenne, sealing an overwhelming 11-0 aggregate triumph.

Ahead of the second leg, Soname had promised the team N750,000 for every goal scored.

Following the Flamingos’ six-goal haul in Ikenne, the football administrator fulfilled his pledge by rewarding the team with N4.5 million.

The victory further underlined the Flamingos’ dominance in the qualifiers as they advanced confidently to the final round of the campaign.

Nigeria will now face the Benin Republic in the last qualifying round, with a place at the 2026 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco at stake.
