Nigeria’s sprint sensation Favour Ofili is set to make her return to the Diamond League circuit in Rome on June 4 in what promises to be a thrilling women’s 200m showdown.
The current world No. 8 will line up against an elite field that includes reigning world champion Melissa Jefferson-Wooden, Olympic champion Julien Alfred, and British sprint star Dina Asher-Smith.
Ofili has been away from competition in recent weeks following the collapse of her proposed allegiance switch to Turkey.
The Nigerian star heads into the race with a season’s best time of 22.46 seconds, recorded in Gainesville, Florida last month.
With several of the world’s top sprinters expected in Rome, the race is anticipated to produce another fast time as Ofili continues her preparations for the major championships later in the season.
