Nigeria has been awarded hosting rights for the 2026 African Schools Championship (U-15 category) after the West African Football Union Zone B (WAFU B) officially unveiled its 2026 calendar.
According to the schedule released by WAFU B, the prestigious youth tournament is scheduled to hold from December 6 to December 9, 2026.
The championship will feature some of the brightest young football talents from countries within the WAFU B region, serving as a key platform for grassroots football development and talent identification across West Africa.
This latest hosting assignment further strengthens Nigeria’s growing profile as a major hub for regional football competitions.
The country has in recent years hosted several high-profile tournaments, reinforcing its position as one of Africa’s football powerhouses both on and off the pitch.
Further details, including the host city, participating nations, match venues, and full tournament format, are expected to be announced in the coming months by WAFU B in collaboration with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
