Chelsea FC have confirmed the appointment of Xabi Alonso as the new manager of the men’s team.
The Premier League side announced on Sunday that the Spaniard will officially assume his role on July 1, 2026, after signing a four-year contract at Stamford Bridge.
In a statement released by the club, Chelsea expressed their delight at securing Alonso’s services as they look to usher in a new era under the highly rated tactician.
Alonso, widely regarded as one of the brightest young managers in European football, arrives with a growing reputation following impressive spells in management after a distinguished playing career.
The 44-year-old is expected to begin preparations ahead of the 2026/27 season, with the club aiming to return to domestic and continental prominence under his leadership.
