Manchester City icon Yaya Toure has been shortlisted for the 2025 Premier League Hall of Fame.
The Ivorian great now stands a chance to become only the second player from his country to be honoured with the prestigious award.
Launched in 2021, the Hall of Fame celebrates players who have made outstanding contributions to the league since its inception in 1992. Inductees are chosen through a combination of fan votes and Premier League selection.
Toure, now 42, spent eight seasons at Manchester City, where he was instrumental in transforming the club into a dominant force in English football. During his time at the Etihad, he won three Premier League titles and cemented his reputation as one of the finest midfielders of his generation.
This year, fifteen nominees will compete for induction, with the final results to be unveiled at a special ceremony on November 4.
Didier Drogba, Chelsea legend and Toure’s compatriot, remains the only African player to have received the honour, having been inducted in 2022.
