Nigerian table tennis star Quadri Aruna faces a tough challenge in the WTT Champions Chongqing 2025, as he has been drawn against World No. 2, Wang Chuqin of China, in the round of 32.

The highly anticipated clash is set for Wednesday in one of the opening matches of the prestigious $800,000 tournament, which kicks off the WTT Champions series for the season.

Taking place from March 11 to 16, the event will feature 32 top men’s and women’s singles players battling it out under the iconic purple lights.

This marks the first-ever meeting between Aruna and Chuqin in the WTT series, making their encounter a high-stakes, unpredictable showdown.

Aruna will be looking to make a strong statement in China after finishing as runner-up at the 2025 ITTF Africa Cup in Tunisia, where he fell to longtime rival Omar Assar in the final.
