Nigeria’s table tennis star Quadri Aruna is still searching for his first win in the WTT series this year after suffering a straight-sets defeat to France’s Félix Lebrun at the WTT Champions in Chongqing.
Aruna crashed out in the round of 32 following a 3–0 loss to the 19-year-old Frenchman at the Bloomage Biotech Biohyalux E·C·M Arena in China. Lebrun dominated the encounter with a commanding performance, winning 11–5, 11–6, 11–3.
The defeat extends Aruna’s winless run in the WTT series to eight consecutive matches this year as the Nigerian continues his search for his first victory on the tour.
Aruna’s last win in the WTT series came in September 2025 when he defeated China’s Huang Youzheng in the round of 16.
The clash with Lebrun was the fourth meeting between the two players, with Aruna now holding just one win from their previous encounters.
