Nigeria’s Super Eagles have booked their place in the final of the World Cup playoffs after a dominant 4-1 extra-time victory over Gabon.

The encounter, played at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat, was tightly contested in the opening half as both sides struggled to break the deadlock.

Sevilla striker Akor Adams finally opened the scoring for Nigeria in the 78th minute, capitalizing on a fine cross from Samuel Chukwueze to hand the Eagles a deserved lead. However, Gabon refused to give up and grabbed an equalizer through Mario Lemina in the 90th minute to send the game into extra time.

The Super Eagles came out firing in the extra period, displaying superior fitness and attacking intent. Bright Ejuke restored Nigeria’s lead with a composed finish before Victor Osimhen took over, scoring twice in quick succession to seal a commanding 4-1 triumph.

The result sends Nigeria into the playoff final, keeping their World Cup dream very much alive as they await their next opponent.
