As the countdown to the 2026 FIFA World Cup playoffs continues, Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has issued a strong warning to Gabon and other contenders not to underestimate Nigeria’s determination and quality.

The Besiktas star, speaking ahead of the Super Eagles’ semi-final clash with Gabon on Thursday in Rabat, assured fans that the team will be fully prepared for the decisive encounters.

“The strength of the team lies in our pace and power in transition, creativity in wide areas, and a solid spine,” Ndidi said. “We also have depth players who can come in and change the game. When we’re connected and intense, we’re dangerous. With unity and discipline, we believe we can do it.”

Ndidi, who has been one of Nigeria’s most consistent performers in recent years, further emphasised the team’s focus and mentality heading into the playoffs.

“Expect commitment, organisation, and intensity,” he continued. “We want to be difficult to play against, control key moments, and show courage when it matters most. The promise we can make is effort and togetherness.”

Nigeria will face Gabon in the first semi-final of the African World Cup playoffs in Rabat, with the winner taking a big step toward securing a spot at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
