Luis Rubiales has been found guilty of kissing Jenni Hermoso without her consent following the 2023 Women’s World Cup final.

The former Spanish football chief denied the charges, but Spain’s High Court in Madrid ruled against him. He has been ordered to pay Hermoso €10,000 (£8,274) and is prohibited from contacting her or coming within 200 meters of her.

Rubiales was acquitted of a separate coercion charge related to events after the incident.

The incident occurred in September 2023 after Spain’s 1-0 victory over England in the Women’s World Cup final in Sydney. Rubiales grabbed Hermoso by the head with both hands and kissed her on the lips.
