West Brom manager Carlos Corberan has underlined the importance of the Nigeria’s Super Eagles striker Josh Maja to the team.
The Baggies defeated Portsmouth 3-0 on Sunday with the Nigerian International scoring the opening goal in the first minute.
“We know he is an important player for us. We couldn’t enjoy Josh too much last year because he had two injuries in the same place,” Corberan said after the win over Portsmouth.
“He worked very hard when the rest of the team was resting to arrive into the season at the level he is right now.
“Normally in life things are not coincidences, they are consequences of things. His mentality, his commitment and hard work are now giving him the consequences.”
Maja has now scored 5 goals for the club this season.
