Nigeria’s U20 women’s team, the Falconets, have been crowned champions of the 2025 WAFU Zone B U20 Girls Cup following a commanding 3-0 victory over Ghana’s Black Princesses on Tuesday morning in Adjouhoun, Benin Republic.

The Falconets maintained their perfect run in the tournament, securing nine points from three matches to seal the title with a game to spare.

Jenat Akeremkowei opened the scoring in the 17th minute with a fine finish, before Alaba Olabiyi doubled the lead seven minutes later with a clinical strike.
In the second half, Ramotalahi Kareem continued her impressive form by adding the third goal in the 61st minute to put the result beyond doubt.

Nigeria’s dominance throughout the competition has been evident, with the Falconets showcasing their attacking flair and defensive solidity to outclass all opponents.

The victory reaffirms Nigeria’s status as a powerhouse in women’s football within the sub-region, as the Falconets now look forward to continuing their fine form on the continental and global stages.
