Nigeria’s Super Falcons will open their training camp for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) on Friday, February 20, as preparations intensify for the continental showpiece.

Head coach Justine Madugu’s side will begin camping in Nigeria’s capital, Abuja, before travelling to Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, for the WAFU B invitational tournament.

The invitational tournament, scheduled to run from February 27 to March 7, will also feature Ghana and Senegal, providing the defending African champions with valuable competitive matches ahead of the WAFCON finals.

The Super Falcons are also expected to engage in additional international friendly fixtures as part of their build-up to the tournament.

The 2026 WAFCON will serve as Africa’s qualifying competition for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup, which will be hosted by Brazil. Africa will be represented by the four semi-finalists at the global showpiece.

Nigeria have been drawn in Group C of the tournament alongside Zambia, Egypt, and Malawi, setting up a challenging group phase for the nine-time African champions.
