WAFCON 2024: CAF unveils new trophy in Morocco

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially unveiled a brand-new trophy for the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

The unveiling took place on Wednesday during a colourful ceremony in Rabat, Morocco, as part of CAF’s broader efforts to elevate women’s football across the continent.

Delegates from all 12 countries participating in this year’s tournament were present at the event.

The 2024 WAFCON kicks off on Saturday, with host nation Morocco’s Atlas Lionesses set to face Zambia’s Copper Queens in the opening match.

South Africa’s Banyana Banyana are the reigning champions of the competition.
