Galatasaray striker, Victor Osimhen, has declared his total commitment to ensuring Nigeria qualifies for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Nigeria is among the four African nations set to battle for the continent’s sole playoff spot, and Osimhen believes the Super Eagles have what it takes to secure qualification.
Speaking to Sporx, the determined forward emphasized that representing Nigeria on the world’s biggest football stage remains his top priority.
“We need to work hard and fight for these goals. I want to be in the World Cup with my country. I am giving my everything there too.
My focus is here now. Next month is the World Cup playoffs. I will help my teammates with my goals, assists, and everything,” he said.
Osimhen, who has been in fine form since joining Galatasaray, will be a key figure as the Super Eagles prepare to face Gabon in their first playoff match in Morocco.
The 2023 African Footballer of the Year remains optimistic that Nigeria will return to the World Cup after missing out on the 2022 edition in Qatar.
