German Bundesliga side Werder Bremen have confirmed that Nigerian forward Victor Boniface will miss the remainder of the season due to injury.

The lanky striker has begun his rehabilitation programme after sustaining an injury toward the end of 2025, ruling him out of action for the rest of the campaign.

Speaking on the development, Werder Bremen official Clemens Fritz Niemeyer revealed that while the player is making steady progress, there is no clear timeline for his return to full fitness.

“He’s completing his rehab in Leverkusen, and we’re happy about every bit of progress. But it’s still impossible to predict how quickly he’ll be fully fit again,” Niemeyer told DeichStube.

“Due to the rehabilitation process, we don’t expect Victor to play for Werder again this season.”

Boniface’s absence will come as a significant blow for the Bundesliga outfit as they push to finish the season strongly without one of their key attacking options.
