Super Eagles forward Umar Sadiq has claimed the LaLiga Goal of the Month award for March, thanks to his stunning backheel strike against Osasuna.
Sadiq produced a moment of brilliance in Valencia’s 3-3 draw at El Sadar, scoring in the closing moments of the game. With Valencia trailing 3-2, Sergi Canós delivered a cross into the box, and Sadiq, with his back to goal, executed a superb backheel finish past the Osasuna goalkeeper.
This marks the first time the Nigerian international has won the LaLiga Goal of the Month award. His goal edged out two other remarkable strikes in the final vote: Diego García’s overhead kick for CD Leganés against Getafe CF and Andrei Rațiu’s long-range effort for Rayo Vallecano against Sevilla.
