At least five clubs have officially booked their places in the Round of 16 of this season’s UEFA Champions League.

According to an update posted on UEFA’s official website on Wednesday night, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City, and Atalanta are the latest teams to seal qualification following the conclusion of Matchday 6 fixtures.

The trio now join Arsenal and Bayern Munich, who had already secured progression to the next stage of the competition.

Under the new UCL format, the top eight teams on the overall table will advance directly to the Round of 16. Teams placed 9th to 24th will battle in the knockout phase play-offs, with the winners joining the already-qualified sides in the last-16.

In total, only 24 teams will make it into the Champions League knockout phase this season.
