Nigeria’s Falconets were rewarded in grand style on Saturday after sealing qualification for the final round of the U20 Women’s World Cup qualifier.

Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, showered the players with cash following their emphatic 4-0 win over Rwanda at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan, which secured a 5-0 aggregate triumph.

Makinde gifted the team $15,000 in appreciation of their dominant display and commitment throughout the qualifier.

The Falconets took control of the tie early on, with goals from Precious and Fatimoh in the first half before Janet and Afolabi sealed the victory after the break.

With the win, Nigeria now advances confidently to the final stage of the qualification series as they continue their quest for a ticket to the 2025 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup.
