U20 AFCONq: Flying Eagles bounce back to victory against Cote d’Ivoire, face Niger in the semi final

After suffering defeat in the opening game, Nigeria’s Flying Eagles roared back into contention for a place in the 2025 U20 African Cup of Nations.

The Nigerian side suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to Burkina Faso in the opening group game and had to beat the Ivorians in the final group game.

On Thursday Lome, the Ivorians broke the deadlock in the 62nd minute, but Enyimba forward Clinton Jephta equalised for Nigeria shortly after.

Kparobo Arierhi scored the winning goal for Aliyu Zubairu’s side late in the game.

Meanwhile, Nigeria will take on the Niger Republic in Saturday’s semi-finals.

Cote d’Ivoire will take on Ghana in the other semifinal fixture.
