Nigeria’s Junior D’Tigers failed to follow in the footsteps of the D’Tigress as they crashed out of the U18 Afrobasketball championship in Pretoria.
Junior D’Tigress defeated Egypt on Wednesday to reach the semi-final of the women’s event and set up a clash against Uganda.
The men’s team confronted their counterpart from Mali and suffered an 81-70 defeat.
Despite starting the game strongly, it was Mali who was leading 40-38 at halftime.
The 3rd quarter was keenly contested and D’Tigers was able to close the gap but Mali still won 54-53 and they eventually sealed the game final quarter 81-70 and reached the semi final at the expense of Nigeria.
