Despite starting the championship on a shaky note, Nigeria’s Junior Tigers has qualified for the knockout round of the U18 Afrobasketball championship in Pretoria.
Nigeria’s side arrived late in South Africa for the championship and suffered a heavy defeat against Egypt.
But they bounced strongly in their second game against Angola and recorded a massive victory.
They sealed their place in the knockout round on Tuesday afternoon with a 72-61 victory over Uganda.
The outcome of the game in the group between Egypt and Angola is inconsequential as Junior Tigers will finish top or second in the group.
