Despite crashing out at the quarter final of the competition, Nigeria’s Flamingos has emerged as the winner of the FIFA fair play award.
The Nigerian side started the competition on a strong note winning all their 3 group games against Ecuador, New Zealand and Dominican Republic.
They find the American women too difficult to handle and suffered a 2-0 defeat.
Following the final of the competition on Sunday, the World soccer governing body announced the individual award and fair play was handed to Nigeria.
Nigeria picked up the least number of booking in the competition.
