Transfer Update: Super Eagles forward Egbuchulam joins Detroit City FC

Detroit City FC have announced the signing of Nigerian forward Chisom Egbuchulam on a one-year deal with a club option for 2027.

The former Super Eagles attacker joins Le Rouge after spending the 2024–25 season with Al-Jandal in the Saudi Arabian First Division.

He will wear the No. 26 jersey for the American side. The move remains subject to league and federation approval.

Egbuchulam, arrives in Detroit with a wealth of international experience, having played across Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

The Enugu-born striker began his professional career with Enugu Rangers, where he established himself as one of the standout forwards in the Nigeria Professional Football League.

His impressive performances earned him a move to Swedish top-flight club BK Häcken in 2017.

He later featured for Falkenbergs FF, enjoying a prolific 2018 Superettan campaign in which he netted 14 league goals.

 

Over the course of his career, Egbuchulam has also had goal-scoring spells in South Korea, China, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia, building a reputation as a versatile and experienced forward.

 

Detroit City will be hoping his experience and attacking instincts will bolster their frontline as they push for success in the upcoming season.
