Nigerian striker Paul Onuachu has sealed a permanent move to Turkish Super Lig side Trabzonspor, signing a three-year deal ahead of his second stint with the club.
The 31-year-old returns to Trabzonspor after an impressive loan spell two seasons ago, where he netted 17 goals in 25 appearances. His performances left a lasting impression, prompting the Turkish club to pursue a full transfer from his parent club, Southampton.
Negotiations between both clubs had stalled in recent weeks, with Trabzonspor citing shifting terms and unrealistic demands from Southampton.
However, an agreement was finally reached last Friday, bringing an end to the drawn-out transfer saga.
Onuachu featured 25 times for Southampton in the 2024/25 Premier League season, scoring four goals, but his efforts weren’t enough to prevent the club from suffering relegation.
