Basket Landes have secured the signing of Nigerian D’Tigress standout Murjanatu Musa on a one-year deal.
The dominant center arrives from Tarbes Gespe Bigorre, where she consistently impressed with her energy, strength, and all-around impact on both ends of the court. Her athletic profile and personality align perfectly with the philosophy of head coach Julie Barennes.
Musa’s résumé includes a recent stint with the Phoenix Mercury in the WNBA, as well as standout performances in EuroCup Women and La Boulangère Wonderligue. At Tarbes, she delivered multiple games with over 16 rebounds and/or 20 points, earning a place in the league’s season starting five.
Having faced her several times, Basket Landes know firsthand the challenge Musa poses Barennes and her staff often had to devise special game plans to contain her.
The Nigerian international, fresh off her third Africa Cup of Nations triumph, is expected to link up with her new teammates around September 1, pending completion of administrative procedures.
