Super Eagles star Ola Aina has signed a contract extension with Nottingham Forest following an impressive 2024/25 campaign at right-back.
The 27-year-old played a crucial role as Forest exceeded expectations in the Premier League, spending most of the season in the top five before ultimately securing a 7th-place finish.
With European football now on the horizon, Forest are keen to retain key players as they aim to strengthen the squad and maintain their upward momentum.
Aina, initially signed on a free transfer in 2023, proved to be one of the season’s surprise standouts. Once regarded as a promising talent from Chelsea’s academy, his career had somewhat stagnated after leaving Stamford Bridge until his resurgence at Forest.
Praised for his defensive solidity and awareness, Aina earned the reputation of being the “most effective goal-line defender” in the league. Though his goal contributions were modest, his creativity and impact on Forest’s attacking build-up were undeniable, making his contract renewal a priority for the club.
