Super Falcons defender Ashleigh Plumptre has extended her contract with Saudi Arabian club Al-Ittihad, keeping her at the club until 2027.

The 26-year-old joined Al-Ittihad in 2023 on a free transfer after leaving Leicester City. Since her arrival, Plumptre has made a significant impact, scoring two goals and providing one assist for the team under coach Lindsay Camila.

In a standout moment, Plumptre scored a hat-trick on her debut for Al-Ittihad Ladies in October 2023, during a match against Eastern Flames, where her international teammate Tochukwu Oluehi was in goal for the opposing side.

Though Plumptre faced a setback with a cruciate ligament injury that sidelined her for around six months, she has since returned to form. The injury also caused her to miss the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.

Plumptre was part of Nigeria’s squad for both the 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco and the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, co-hosted by New Zealand and Australia.
