Super Eagles forward Gift Orban has pledged his commitment to helping Hoffenheim retain their Bundesliga status this season.
The Nigerian striker, who joined the club from Ligue 1 side Olympique Lyon in January, has hit the ground running with four goals in his first seven appearances.
Hoffenheim, currently sitting 14th on the table with 27 points from 28 games, are locked in a battle for survival following a turbulent campaign under head coach Christian Ilzer.
Despite receiving offers from several clubs during the winter transfer window, Orban says he was drawn to Hoffenheim by the respect shown to him by the club’s management.
“Hoffenheim is a good club, but in a difficult situation,” Orban said in an interview with the club’s official website. “Many clubs contacted me in the winter, but here the management treated me with respect and convinced me. I now want to score even more goals and work hard to ensure that we stay in the league.”
