Arne Slot suffered his first defeat with Liverpool in the Premier League on Saturday.

‘The Reds’ surprisingly lost 0-1 at home to Nottingham Forest, while reigning national champions Manchester City won 2-1 at home to Brentford FC.

With three victories, including 3-0 in the cracker against rivals Manchester United, Slot had made an excellent start to his job as Liverpool manager.

The team had not yet conceded a goal, but against Nottingham things went wrong. Substitute Callum Hudson-Odoi scored the only goal at Anfield in the 72nd minute of the match.

The defeat in Nottingham means Liverpool remain on nine points for the time being. Manchester City remained flawless in the Premier League and thus dealt the first blow in the hunt for a fifth consecutive league title.

It was Erling Haaland again who made the difference for Pep Guardiola’s side against Brentford, after the visitors took a 0-1 lead within a minute at the Etihad Stadium through Yoane Wissa.

The Norwegian striker scored twice before half-time to make it 1-2.

Earlier in the day, Manchester United won 0-3 at Southampton, partly thanks to a goal from Matthijs de Ligt and the defender was also voted man of the match.

Chelsea also made no mistake at Bournemouth, the Londoners won 0-1 thanks to a late goal from Christopher Nkunku.
