Sevilla manager Garcia Pimienta has expressed confidence that Chidera Ejuke will soon return to his best after making his comeback from a three-month injury layoff.
Ejuke, who joined Sevilla on a free transfer last summer, had a promising start to his career at the club, scoring once in his first nine La Liga appearances. However, his progress was interrupted in late October when he suffered a hamstring injury during Sevilla’s 5-1 defeat to Barcelona.
After returning to training in early January, the 27-year-old made his long-awaited return to action last week in a 2-1 loss to Girona, where he played just nine minutes.
“I think Ejuke was good. He was involved and took a shot from outside the box. Little by little, he will get back to his best level, and that’s the plan,” Pimienta commented, according to Futbol Fantasy.
Sevilla are currently in 12th place in La Liga and will be aiming to improve their position in the coming weeks.
