Cristiano Ronaldo etched his name in the history books on Saturday, even as Al-Nassr fell short against Al Ahli in the Saudi Super Cup final.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the Portuguese legend has become the first player in football history to score 100 goals for four different clubs as well as for his national team.
The 40-year-old, who previously starred for Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus, reached the milestone after converting a penalty to give Al-Nassr the lead—his 100th goal for the Saudi side.
The thrilling encounter ended 2-2 in regulation time. Franck Kessié cancelled out Ronaldo’s opener before the break, while Marcelo Brozović restored Al-Nassr’s advantage in the second half. Roger Ibañez, however, struck again to level for Al Ahli.
In the penalty shootout, Al Ahli triumphed 4-3, with goalkeeper Édouard Mendy pulling off a decisive save to secure the trophy.
