Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has been crowned the Football Writers’ Association (FWA) Footballer of the Year after securing a commanding 90% of the votes.
The Egyptian forward has enjoyed a stellar season, scoring 33 goals and providing 23 assists across all competitions, including 28 goals in the Premier League.
Salah’s outstanding form was instrumental in Liverpool securing their 20th English top-flight title, drawing them level with Manchester United for the most in history.
This marks the third time Salah has received the prestigious award, having previously won in 2017–18 and 2021–22 — a feat only matched by Arsenal legend Thierry Henry.
Liverpool teammate Virgil van Dijk was the runner-up in the voting.
