Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim has thrown his support behind under-fire goalkeeper André Onana following two crucial mistakes in their 2-2 Europa League draw against Lyon.
Onana, was at fault for Lyon’s opener after misjudging Thiago Almada’s looping free-kick in the 26th minute.
United responded through Leny Yoro just before halftime, and Joshua Zirkzee looked to have sealed the win with an 88th-minute header. However, a late blunder saw Onana parry a shot straight to Rayan Cherki, who pounced to level the score in the dying moments.
Despite the criticism, Amorim stood by his keeper. Speaking after the match, he said:
“When one player makes a mistake, all the team makes a mistake — so we continue like this.
Still trusting André? We will keep working hard and improving.”
