Real Madrid won the inaugural FIFA Intercontinental Cup on Wednesday, beating Mexican CF Pachuca 3-0.

Real Madrid entered the Lusail Stadium in the Qatari capital Doha at full strength, but it took a while for Carlo Ancelotti’s team opened the scoring against Pachuca.

In the 37th minute, Kylian Mbappé scored the opening goal.

Shortly after the break, Rodrygo doubled the lead, the Brazilian dribbled past several Mexican defenders on the edge of the penalty area and curled the ball into the far corner.

And before the final whistle, Vinícius Júnior put the final score on the board from the penalty spot: 3-0.

The FIFA Intercontinental Cup was held for the first time this year.
