Manchester City surprisingly trailed Ipswich Town after seven minutes at the Etihad Stadium, Sammie Szmodics was the end station of a counter attack by the promoted team.

The home crowd did not have to wait long for an answer, because City were already 3-1 ahead ten minutes later.

Haaland first fired in a penalty, after which Kevin De Bruyne was able to shoot into an empty net.

Former PSV player Sávio had just snatched the ball from Ipswich goalkeeper Arijanet Muric.

Haaland immediately scored his second goal after a through ball from De Bruyne.

The Norwegian completed his hat trick with a long-range shot just before the end as the game ended 4-1

City are top of the Premier League after two games, with manager Pep Guardiola’s team winning 0-2 at Chelsea last week.
