Arsenal have been fined £65,000 for failing to control their players during their Premier League victory against Wolves on January 25.

The Football Association (FA) charged the club for not ensuring their players “did not behave in an improper manner” following the dismissal of Myles Lewis-Skelly. Arsenal admitted to the charge, and the fine was subsequently imposed by an independent regulatory commission.

The incident occurred in the 43rd minute of the match when players surrounded referee Michael Oliver after he issued a straight red card to Lewis-Skelly for a challenge on Matt Doherty. The decision was upheld by VAR official Darren England, who deemed the tackle to be serious foul play.

However, Arsenal later appealed the decision, and the 18-year-old’s three-match suspension was overturned.

Following the match, the referees’ body, Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL), revealed that police were investigating social media threats and abuse directed at Oliver and his family.

Arsenal won the match 1-0 at Molineux, maintaining their pursuit of the Premier League title.
