Portuguese Club terminates the contract of Nigerian star

Portuguese Primera Liga side FC Arouca has announced the contract termination of the Nigerian forward Yusuf Lawal.

The 26-year old attacker started his European career with the Belgian club Lokeren in 2017 and left in 2020 with 22 games under his belts.

He joined Arouca last summer from the Azerbaijan side Neftci Baku where he scored 4 goals in 69 matches.

The Portuguese club announced his termination on Wednesday morning and wished him all the best in future

” Futebol Clube De Arouca announces an amicable contract termination of the contract with player Yusuf Lawal has been agreed.

” We wish you a future sporting and personal success”, the club statement said.

Lawal made 26 appearances for Arouca and scored no goal.

 

 

Following his successful trials with the team, Danish side Sonderjyske Fodbold has captured former Rivers United defender Ebube Duru on a 3-year deal.

 

Duru was part of Rivers United victorious team who won the Nigeria Premier Football League in 2022.

The skillful left back has on trials with the club on a very long time and his performance has impressed the club hierarchy.

Apart from agreeing on a 3 year deal, work and residence permit has been received for the player to be part of the team.

Duru who has 4 caps for Super Eagles is expected to make his official debut for the club in coming weekend.
