Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen will undergo crucial medical tests today (Friday) as the club pushes to have him ready for Monday’s highly anticipated Istanbul derby against Fenerbahce.

The Super Eagles forward has been sidelined for the past 10 days after suffering a hamstring injury while on international duty with Nigeria during their match against Congo.

Scans revealed a moderate muscle strain with internal bleeding in his left hamstring, ruling him out of action since the break.

Osimhen has missed Galatasaray’s last two fixtures, including Tuesday night’s 1-0 UEFA Champions League loss to Union Saint-Gilloise a defeat that ended the club’s impressive 33-match home unbeaten record.

Despite the setback, the 26-year-old has shown strong determination to return in time for the derby. According to club sources, Galatasaray’s medical team has carried out intensive rehabilitation sessions, with most of his recovery focused on controlled gym work and physiotherapy.

He is expected to join light training on the field today to evaluate his readiness. The outcome will determine whether he is cleared to participate in the high-pressure clash at Kadıköy.

Osimhen has reportedly communicated his willingness to “make sacrifices” to feature in the encounter, which could prove decisive in the Turkish Super Lig title race.
