Super Falcons star Asisat Oshoala has shut down rumours suggesting she plans to retire from international football.
Speaking to journalists after Nigeria’s thrilling 3-2 win over Morocco in the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations final, the 30-year-old forward dismissed the reports.
“I don’t know where that came from, but agenda must agend. I get it, but I’m not bothered. I’m still here, still playing, still doing my job. That’s what I’m focused on,” Oshoala stated.
Although she played a supporting role at this year’s tournament, Oshoala remains a key figure for the Super Falcons.
Since making her international debut in 2013, she has scored in three consecutive FIFA Women’s World Cups a first for any African player and has now secured her fourth WAFCON title (2014, 2016, 2018, and 2024).
