Bruno Onyemaechi, defender for Nigeria’s Super Eagles and Boavista, has completed a transfer to Greek Premier League club Olympiakos.
Onyeamaechi enjoyed a standout season with the Portuguese side, attracting the attention of several top European clubs. Turkish Super Lig outfit Trabzonspor showed strong interest in securing the Nigerian’s services but could not come to terms with Boavista over a transfer fee.
Olympiakos, however, reached an agreement with Boavista for €2.5 million, and Onyeamaechi traveled to Greece over the weekend for a medical. On Monday, Olympiakos officially announced the signing of the defender, who is set to join his new teammates ahead of their next match.
