Brentford FC midfielder Frank Onyeka has praised the coaching style and philosophy of Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle, highlighting the positive impact the French-born tactician has made since his appointment.
Chelle was named head coach of the Nigerian national team in 2024, and according to Onyeka, the former defender has brought noticeable stability and a fresh approach to the Super Eagles setup.
Speaking on his experience under the new manager, Onyeka revealed that Chelle has implemented significant changes in both tactics and overall team structure.
“I think he came in and changed everything the way we played, the way we’ve been set up, and his philosophy is just really good,” Onyeka said.
The Brentford midfielder also emphasized the human side of Chelle’s management style, noting that his relationship with the players has helped create a relaxed and positive atmosphere within the squad.
“He’s a loving coach. The way he speaks to the players, he makes fun of the players. It’s just different compared to what we had before,” Onyeka added.
Chelle’s approach appears to be winning the confidence of the players as the Super Eagles continue preparations for upcoming international competitions, with expectations rising that the team can build consistency and compete strongly on the continental stage.
